Risograph Printing
Stencil printing is a porous printing technique similar to that used by mimeograph machines, which were developed to allow reproduction of multiple copies of the same image or text, and semi-automatic rotary mimeograph machines. Duplicating machines that have adopted the digitization of porous printing techniques and thus offer a simpler and faster process are digital stencil duplicators; they are known as Risograph in reference to the brand of digital stencil duplicators manufactured by Riso Kagaku Corporation that are commonly used around the world. The technology is somewhere along the line between screen printing and offset printing, producing bright and clear colors and finishing textures that are unique to Risograph.

About Corners
Corners Printing is a printing shop specializing in printing resources run by Design Studio Corners based in Seoul since 2012. We currently use two 2-color printing machines, MZ 970 with 29 drums, and one A2 printing machine, A2 Riso with 13 drums. We have been experimenting with various printing types and finding suitable paper for risograph printing to improve the quality of outcomes. We sometimes hold events such as open studios, workshops, and exhibitions for those who have not experienced the printing technique.

사라 보리스의 〈Rainbow〉는 선명하고 생생한 색지의 〈Rainbow 1〉과 네온과 파스텔 색지으로 표현된 〈Rainbow 2〉, 두 권의 시리즈로 제작되었습니다. 정사각형 커버에 7개의 반원들로 구성된 〈Rainbow〉는 새로운 방법의 책 읽기을 제안합니다.
사라 보리스는 런던을 기반으로 스크린인쇄, 조각, 책, 레터프레스 등의 형태로 작업을 진행하는 아티스트이자 디자이너입니다. 코우너스는 2019년 낭시에서 열린 잉크 빌리지 스핀오프 전시에서 사라 보리스와 함께 작업했으며, 2021년 말부터 작가와 일본 타케오 제지사의 협업을 통해 〈Rainbow〉 출판 프로젝트를 시작했습니다. 〈Rainbow〉 출판 프로젝트는 타케오 제지사와 두성종이의 도움을 받았습니다. 프로젝트는 약 1년 6개월 동안 이메일과 왓츠앱 대화, 파리에서의 미팅을 통해 진행되었고, 서울 충무로의 정성문화사(도무송), 광성제본(미싱제본), 현성지앤피(금박), 비닐24(OPP비닐제작), 청산인쇄(봉투제작)의 협업으로 제작되었습니다.
